Emotion regulation

Emotions are not a problem to remove. They are information — and you can learn to work with them.

When emotions slip out of control

Sudden reactions you later regret, tension that lingers, anger suppressed until it bursts out, or feeling cut off from your own feelings are the most common reasons people come to this area.

The goal is not to feel less, but to understand what is happening and to have a choice in how you respond.

How we work

We start by recognising and naming emotional states and noticing what sets them off. Later we add concrete techniques: breathing work, mindfulness, body-based practice and reframing thoughts.

We also learn to separate an emotion from the impulse to act — that is exactly where the space for choice appears.

Body and nervous system

Emotion regulation begins in the body. Sleep, movement, breathing and recovery genuinely affect how we respond to stress and how quickly we return to balance.

Regularity matters more than intensity — a few minutes a day does more than rare, long bursts.
