Stress, tension and burnout

Pausing does not remove every demand, but it can reveal what is possible to change.

When overload becomes normal

Difficulty switching off after work, irritability, low energy, physical tension and a constant sense of urgency may indicate that demands exceed available resources.

Looking at the real situation

Consultations can help organise sources of pressure, distinguish what can and cannot be influenced, examine boundaries and plan small sustainable changes. Burnout relates specifically to the occupational context; not all exhaustion is burnout.

Without blaming the individual

Support does not reduce the problem to better personal organisation. Working conditions, safety, workload, access to rest and relationships in the surrounding environment may also matter.
